Christina Acosta LMT #71427

Christina was an actor and a dancer for most of her life and holds a BFA in Dance Ethnology and Minored in Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She also studied Classical Theatre with the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University, UK. Other specialties include physical theatre and dance science. Through study of Laban Movement Notation and Viewpoints Method of theatre training she had hopes of becoming a professor of Movement Studies. After a major injury that required invasive surgery her career was guided in an unexpected direction into recuperative therapies. She attended a Massage Therapy Certification Course in Manhattan Beach, California and then received more advanced education in bodywork at various schools in Sonoma County, Napa Valley, Fair Oaks, Roseville, and Nevada City.

She began her career in bodywork and massage in the Spa Industry of Napa Valley in 2006. Her heart was drawn to Sacramento for its Swing and Blues dance community and she knew she needed to be around its colorful and urban atmosphere and moved to the area in 2012.

Christina has a passion for Fan Dancing, Swing Dancing, Zouk, West Coast Swing, and Blues. She also makes jewelry and crafts fascinators and interesting little knick knacks that she sells on Etsy. She enjoys reading the bible and spending time in prayer.

Christina also offers education in the massage field. She teaches a course “Building Your Practice in 30 Days” and mentors local fresh massage therapists right out of school! Her passion is deeply rooted in education and community. If you have finished massage school training and wish to have mentoring, do not hesitate to reach out.
